About Hall Cameras
ROLLEIFLEX...ZEISS IKON...VOIGTLANDER...Remember these names from the fifties? well 1960 was the year when Bill and Jack Hall opened a camera shop at 95, TALBOT STREET, DUBLIN 1. trading as W.& J.HALL CAMERAS.
Japanese cameras were not very popular in Ireland until we started to sell PENTAX and YASHICA brands and to this day there are many still in use,CANON, NIKON, OLYMPUS etc.,came later. My brother Billy who died in 1989 was the specialist in projection equipment and promoted the sales of 16mm and 8mm projectors to schools, institutions and home users for children's parties etc. The days of 8mm cine cameras has almost gone, today it's Video cameras, but many happy memories are recorded on the thousands of movie cameras we sold.
As business progressed, nephew Jim Hall joined us in 1962 and is presently a Director together with Phil Maree who joined the company in 1970.Both are very knowledgeable and experienced in the older and newest camera systems.
